At the beginning of November we brewed a big 12% alcohol stout. We filled our mash tun to the brim with malt and only took the first runnings for that beer. We then added more water and got a much lighter wort. This is where Baby Stout comes from. It's big brother is still aging and will be ready a little later.
Baby Stout is a wonderfully easy drinking 4% stout. The oats and crystal malts give it a satisfyingly smooth mouthfeel. The aroma and flavor are full of coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. It's a great beer to go with savory winter dishes or when you are thinking you want just one more beer before that cold trip home.
